MGA Crew Title: Author/Charter Band Aquisitions
BIO: I am a second year college student, currently undecided, with an insatiable love for Rock Band. I play Expert on everything, and am ranked in the top 75 Expert Guitarists worldwide. I have played music games since I was a Freshman in high school, starting with Dance Dance Revolution, and used the program Stepmania, a DDR simulator, to make my own files. Years passed and I got into Guitar Hero 2 my Senior year of high school. Moving up to Expert quickly, I started working on Feedback charts, which were a means of creating charts for modified Guitar Hero 2 disc. Over time, the quality of my charts increased dramatically, and just as I was finishing one for Juice by Steve Vai (my favorite guitarist), I learn about
Rock Band Network. This was the big break I was looking for. I could finally not only chart my favorite underground bands (and maybe some mainstream ones), but help them get into the realm of the known.
Well after about a month, I ran into MGA. While the other companies offered their connections in the closed beta, MGA offered the freedom I already had as an independent charter with the advantages of being in a company. I will be working mostly on Guitar/Bass, but I will collaborate on Drum charts and certainly try my hand at Vocals. I will also be spending a lot of time making your characters in game move with the music to make you get the feeling you do when you see the lights freak out when Serj Tankian screams in Chop Suey, or watch the drummer rap in Clint Eastwood. I hope to bring bands of more alternative and less represented styles (in Rock Band, at least) to the game through MGA. I love the bands I talk to, and I'm sure they're be plenty of things for open-minded music fans to love about them as well!
Much thanks to HMX and to MGA for giving me this chance to finally allow one of my hobbies to blossom into a real skill; a skill with the ability to get those unknown bands, many of which surpass some of the more known acts in the genre in quality, more into the spotlight. I have been in discussion with several groups about RBN before I even knew of MGA, so expect them to pop up on the site there soon!
